Surfing in Taghazout: spots, seasons and local tips
Idder

Taghazout is a small fishing village on Morocco's Atlantic coast, 19 km north of Agadir, that has grown into a surf town. The swell is consistent, the weather is warm for most of the year, and there are waves for every level within a short drive.
When to go
The main surf season runs from October to April, when North Atlantic swell reaches the Moroccan coast. The water is about 17°C in late winter and 21°C in October, so a 3/2 mm wetsuit is usually enough.
Three spots to know
Anchor Point
A fast, hollow right-hand point break that works best on a big northwest swell. It's for experienced surfers only.
Hash Point
In the middle of the village. A mellow right-hander that suits intermediate surfers.
Panorama
A long right-hand point break over sand. On small days it suits beginners and longboarders.
Local tips
Respect the locals. Be polite in the water and follow the lineup rules.
Drink plenty of water. The sun is strong here, even in winter.
Try the food. Don't leave without a tagine after a long day in the water.
Taghazout works for a first week on a board and for a tenth. Not sure which week fits your level? Find your week.
